where did you film? what did you capture?

i did my EPK on a music artist from Bristol called Springa. he is a MC and has been part of a music collective called Subslags for a few years as well as working independently.
we began by filming the main interview in Peaman's music studio but also did a side interview by the water in catsle park. Me and springa went walking around bristol to find other good stops to film. all the filming was done around the centre of Bristol, mainly around Broadmead.
We chose the music studio for the main interview as the sound was really good and all background noise was blocked out.
we tried to use lots of different camer shots and angles such as medium shots, extreme close-ups, pans and tracks. on the archive footage there was also other types of shots like zooms.

what went well?

all the filming went well and we had a lot of footage by the end of it so it was a lot easier when we were editing as we had a lot more choice with the clips. I think we were also able to get his personality across quite well which was one of our aims.

what could have gone better?

some of the shots and freestyles that we filmed by a car park could have been really nice and worked well but we were unable to use them as there was quite a lot of background noise and we agreed it was quite distractive.

which conventions did you replicate?

we tried to replicate most of the usual EPK conventions, for example we had one main interview as well as a second one. we also had shots of Springa walking, freestyling (although we chose not to use these in the final cut), archive footage of him performing and clips from his new, unrelised music video.

who did what in your group?

I was in a group with Lysy and Nicole. we met up before the filming to plan it together. when it came to the filming we all took it in turns doing different things so we all got a chance to do different things but for the majority of it Lysy was incharge of the mic, Nicole was in charge of the sound and i filmed.

what decisions did you make on the day?

we planned out a lot before we actually filmed like locations, questions, etc. so on the day we only really had to plan the angles and shots.
